Hamilton, Scotland, Monklands Hospital, Jacqueline McQuillan, Fatal Accident Inquiry

Hamilton: A woman named Jacqueline McQuillan died at Monklands Hospital in 2018. She was 50 years old and suffered from bronchopneumonia. Now, a Fatal Accident Inquiry will look into her care and treatment from 2012 to 2018.

Procurator Fiscal Andy Shanks is leading the investigation. He mentioned that Jacqueline’s death raised significant public concern. Therefore, an inquiry is necessary to understand what happened.

The inquiry aims to find out the cause of her death and if any precautions could prevent similar incidents in the future. Unlike criminal cases, this inquiry focuses on facts, not blame.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 7, 2025, at Hamilton Sheriff Court. Jacqueline’s family will be updated on important developments as the case progresses.
