Tunbridge Wells: So, there was this guy, Adrian Badea, who got pulled over by the cops. He had cocaine stashed in his shoe and told the officers he was just visiting for a holiday. Can you believe that?

He said he was just sightseeing around the south east, but it turns out he was actually working for a drug gang. The police found him parked in a black BMW at Fountains Retail Park, which had been linked to some shady stuff.

When the police approached him, he started chatting about his plans to explore new towns after driving 223 miles from Crewe. But then he mentioned he had no place to stay and was sleeping in his car. That raised some eyebrows!

After a search, they found six bags of cocaine in his shoe, along with some cannabis and £130 in cash. Not exactly a holiday vibe, right?

Badea, who lives in Crewe, got charged with a bunch of stuff, including possessing cocaine with intent to supply. He pleaded guilty and ended up with a two-year and four-month sentence at Maidstone Crown Court.

Sergeant Ed Kavanagh from Kent Police said it’s great to see genuine tourists, but Badea was definitely not one of them. They found out he was being directed by someone else to deliver drugs all over west Kent. It’s a reminder that they’re keeping a close eye on things and won’t let drug dealers think they can get away with it.
