Perth: A huge venomous snake was found in an Indian restaurant at a busy shopping centre near Perth Airport. It was quite a scene!

The brown snake was hiding behind some boxes at Mumbai Rocks, which is located in the DFO shopping centre. Can you believe it?

This type of snake is one of the deadliest in the world and is often seen in southern Western Australia. They even slither around the beautiful beaches here.

Adam Firstenberg, a reptile remover, said this was his first time rescuing a snake from a shopping centre. He got the call when someone spotted the snake behind the counter.

While it’s unusual to find a snake in such a busy place, Adam mentioned they often get calls from the area. The DFO is surrounded by bushland, which might explain how the snake got in.

He thinks the snake probably came through a loading dock or on a pallet. It’s wild to think about how it ended up there!

Adam said the restaurant staff were really scared when he arrived, but they were relieved once he safely removed the snake. It was a close call!

He joked that it wasn’t just people who needed to finish their Christmas shopping. Thankfully, the staff had kept an eye on the snake, making it easier for him to catch it.

Finding a snake in a shopping centre is super rare, and Adam was surprised it even happened. What a story to tell!
