Salisbury: The Fisherton Street venue, Deacons, recently changed ownership and closed its doors on January 1. It’s set to reopen on January 13 after some much-needed renovations.

They threw a big “final party” on New Year’s Eve to say goodbye before the refurb. The owners, Matthew Thorne and Ben Goldsmith, shared their excitement on Facebook, saying, “2024, you have been a bloody good one.”

They expressed their gratitude to the loyal locals and the amazing team that makes Deacons special. They even joked that the pub is like their child, needing a little TLC.

Matthew and Ben, both from Salisbury, have been friends for years and jumped at the chance to take over the pub. They’re thrilled to keep the local spirit alive and can’t wait to welcome everyone back after the renovations.
