Days of Chaos at Parc Prison Amid Violence, Drugs, and Fire
Parc prison faces turmoil with violence, drug issues, and alarming incidents over the weekend

Bridgend: Things have been pretty wild at Parc prison lately. Over the weekend, there were some serious incidents that raised a lot of eyebrows. One inmate ended up in the hospital after what looked like a drug overdose. Another guy got arrested for allegedly attacking a guard, and there was even a fire started by a prisoner. To top it off, someone tried to take their own life.
Word from inside the prison is that a suicide attempt happened on Sunday night. Apparently, this guy got moved to a wing where he had some serious beef with other inmates. Not a good situation at all.
Earlier that weekend, G4S, the company that runs Parc, reported a “small fire” caused by a prisoner. They said it was put out right away, and the fire service just came by to check things out. They also mentioned that one prisoner went to the hospital for suspected drug use but was back in the prison soon after.
South Wales Police are looking into an alleged assault on a prison officer that happened early Saturday morning. A spokesperson said a female officer was attacked by a male inmate. This is concerning, especially since assaults on staff at Parc have shot up by 109% last year.
On top of all that, a family member of a prisoner was reportedly upset after being locked in a dark room for an hour. She had to cut her visit short because of a panic attack. G4S said it’s not common for visitors to leave early, but when it happens, there can be a wait for staff to escort them out. They’re trying to make visits as pleasant as possible, but being behind locked doors can be pretty stressful.
Sadly, this prison has seen 17 deaths in just 11 months, and there are serious allegations of corruption and drug dealing going around. Just recently, we shared an interview with a former officer who talked about some major issues related to three recent inmate deaths.
