Detroit: So, David Montgomery is back! He hasn’t played since December 15 due to a knee injury he got in a game against the Bills. At first, it looked like it could be a season-ending injury, which was a bummer for the Lions.
But guess what? He practiced fully on Tuesday and is all set to play against the Commanders this Saturday after missing three games. He’s really pumped about it!
Montgomery said, “It’s refreshing. I missed it, so happy to be back.” He’s feeling good about his knee too, especially since the doctors told him he can’t make it worse.
He’s confident, saying, “I wouldn’t be out there if I wasn’t ready.” He even got three medical opinions before deciding to go with rehab instead of surgery.
He mentioned that there was a lot of speculation about him needing surgery, and it caught him off guard when he heard it from the media. But he’s always been sure of himself and how he prepares.
This season, Montgomery rushed for 775 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. In the postseason, he’s already racked up 183 yards and two touchdowns in three games. The Lions are definitely excited to have him back on the field!
