Bexley: The London Borough of Bexley is investing in Danson Splash Park to make it better for everyone. They’re planning to upgrade the water playground and the toilets, which is great news for local families.
Work kicked off on January 15, and they’re replacing the old surfaces and equipment. It’s all about making the park more fun and accessible.
The new design will have waist-level water activation posts, so everyone, including those with disabilities, can join in on the fun. Plus, they’re adding tech to save water and promote active play.
The play area will be split into sections. One side will have gentle sprays and low-level characters for the little ones, while the other side will offer more exciting features for the braver kids.
The toilets near the car park will be back in action soon after the upgrades, but the Mansion House toilets will close for similar improvements.
Councillor Richard Diment mentioned that this investment is crucial for families, especially those without gardens. They want to make sure the splash park is accessible and eco-friendly, so kids of all ages can have a blast.
He added that these upgrades will keep the park a beloved spot for the community for years to come. The splash park is set to reopen in spring 2025, so there’s a bit of a wait, but it’ll be worth it!
