Greater Manchester: A man named James Lalley has been sentenced for some truly awful crimes against two young kids. The police started looking into him back in January 2021 after they got reports about his actions.

So, here’s the deal: Lalley targeted a young boy in Bolton in 2021. But it gets worse—he had also assaulted a young girl in Bury way back in 2008-09. It’s just heartbreaking.

He faced serious charges, including getting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity for the Bolton case, plus the sexual assault of another child under 13. On January 15, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison at Minshull Street Crown Court. Eight years for the Bolton incident and three for the earlier assault.

Detective Constable Matthew Foy, who worked on the case, praised the victims for their courage in coming forward. He said it was tough for them, but their bravery helped lock up a dangerous predator.

GMP is all about keeping kids safe and going after those who hurt them. They also highlighted some support services available for anyone affected by sexual abuse, like Saint Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre and Greater Manchester Rape Crisis. It’s crucial for victims to know they’re not alone and can get help.

In the end, the message is clear: time doesn’t erase the chance for justice. If you or someone you know has been affected by abuse, reaching out for help is a strong step forward.
