Albuquerque: Dana Kay Pexa, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Brownwood, Texas, she later moved to Fort Pierre, South Dakota, where she met her husband, Revi. They married in 1965 and built a life together in Albuquerque.
She was a devoted mother to three sons and a loving grandmother. Dana faced health challenges bravely, battling breast cancer and later angiosarcoma, but her spirit never wavered. Her family and community were always her top priority.
Active in local organizations, Dana was especially passionate about the New Mexico Special Olympics, advocating for special needs athletes. Her kindness and dedication touched many lives, and she will be remembered for her warmth and generosity.
She is survived by her sons, grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and family. A celebration of her life is set for December 29, 2024, with a funeral mass the following day. In her honor, donations can be made to the New Mexico Special Olympics, a cause close to her heart.
