Canterbury: So, there’s been a bit of a kerfuffle in Sturry. A damaged power cable has knocked out electricity for a bunch of homes. It all started when the power was switched off due to an emergency situation.
More than 170 customers were affected by this outage. The folks in the CT3 4 and CT2 0 postcode areas were left in the dark. Some homes have gotten their power back, but others are still waiting.
UK Power Networks got the call about the issue just before 10am. They’ve been working hard to sort it out. Their website even apologized for the hassle, saying they didn’t see this coming but are on it now.
They’ve managed to restore power to many, but as of 1pm, there were still 16 properties without electricity. The good news is they expect to have everything sorted by around 2pm.
People are just hoping for a quick fix so they can get back to their normal routines. UK Power Networks is looking into what caused the power cut, so fingers crossed they’ll have answers soon.
