Newport: So, there’s this wild story about a dad, Mark Glasgow, who got his son, Niall, involved in selling cannabis. They were caught after police raided their home and found over £10,000 worth of the stuff. Can you believe it? The dad was making nearly £150,000 but only had to pay back £4,000!

It all went down on October 6, 2023, when the police acted on some tips they received. They found messages on their phones showing that the father and son were in this together, dealing with thousands of pounds worth of cannabis.

Border Force had already intercepted nine packages containing cannabis over several months. When the police raided Mark’s mom’s place, they found a burner phone and other drug-related items. Then, they hit Mark and Niall’s home, seizing cash, cannabis, and tools used for dealing.

Niall had a ton of messages about cannabis supply on his phone. He admitted to using cannabis and getting it from his dad. They even talked about pricing and how to avoid getting caught. It’s pretty shocking that Niall even threatened violence against some of his customers!

Mark had a history too, with around £18,000 passing through his bank account. He eventually pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply and other charges. Niall also admitted to being involved in the supply, saying he was just following his dad’s lead.

During the sentencing, the judge was pretty harsh, especially about how Mark dragged his son into this mess. She pointed out that Niall didn’t really understand the impact of cannabis, thinking it was just a normal part of family life. Mark got 24 months in prison, and despite benefiting from his crimes, he only had to pay back £4,000.
