Amit Yoran, CEO of Tenable, has died at 54 after a courageous fight with cancer, leaving a significant impact on the cybersecurity industry.

Yoran joined Tenable in 2016 and really helped the company grow, especially with its IPO in 2018. He was a big deal in the cybersecurity world, and his leadership made a difference.
Even though he’s gone, Tenable will keep moving forward. The CFO, Steve Vintz, and COO, Mark Thurmond, are stepping in as co-CEOs. They took over when Yoran went on medical leave last December.
Yoran was also the chair of the board, and now Art Coviello, the lead independent director, will take over that role. Before Tenable, Yoran had a solid career, including leading RSA at Dell and helping start the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s cybersecurity team.
Tenable, based in Columbia, Maryland, competes with other big names like Crowdstrike and Qualys. They provide software that helps businesses and governments keep their networks safe from cyber threats.
