Coventry: It’s a tough time for café lovers in the city. Snax in the City, a favorite spot for many, has closed its doors for good. This happened last Wednesday, and folks are really feeling the loss.
Snax opened back in 2012 but had roots going back to 1997 when it was known as Gingers Café. After more than 20 years, it’s a real bummer to see it go.
The owner, Sahil Aggarwal, mentioned that rising costs and a big regeneration project in the area pushed him to make this tough decision. It’s sad to think that many shops on Hertford Street will soon be gone.
But there’s a glimmer of hope! Sahil is looking for a new spot to reopen Snax later this year. For now, the staff have been moved to other locations.
Residents are sharing their feelings about the closure. Many are saying they’ll really miss the café. One local, Matt, expressed his disappointment, wishing for more cafés like Snax to stick around.
Cara chimed in, saying it feels like another beloved spot is disappearing. She reminisced about her visits to Snax and other cafés, worried there won’t be any left soon.
Diane shared her love for their breakfasts and can’t wait for them to find a new home. It’s clear that Snax held a special place in many hearts.
Sahil took a moment to thank his team and loyal customers, especially for their support during the tough times after COVID. It’s heartwarming to see such community spirit.
