Foxborough: The New England Patriots really hit a new low this week. They faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers and ended up losing 40-7 at home. Ouch! It was tough to watch as the Chargers scored on seven straight drives.

Fans at Gillette Stadium were not happy at all. You could hear the boos and chants of “Fire Mayo” echoing through the stands. Tom E. Curran, a Patriots insider, didn’t hold back on his thoughts about the game. He called the performance “unprofessional.”

Curran pointed out that this loss was especially disappointing after last week’s close game against the Buffalo Bills. He felt like the team should have been improving as the season went on, but instead, it seems like everything is falling apart.

There’s a lot of chatter about the coaching staff too. Ian Rapoport mentioned that Jerod Mayo’s job is safe for now, but former player Ted Johnson thinks this loss might change things. He said it’s alarming that the team can’t seem to put together two good games in a row.

Even rookie quarterback Drake Maye defended the coaching staff last week, but it’s really up to the team’s owner, Robert Kraft, to figure out what’s next. The Patriots have one more game to play this season against the Bills, and fans are hoping for a better showing.
