Dungannon: A man was arrested for arson after a serious house fire. The fire occurred on Cunninghams Lane on February 3. Four people, including two women and two children, were rescued and taken to the hospital.
Local police received a call about the fire around 8:30 PM. Officers arrived quickly and found the house ablaze. They used ladders from nearby homes to rescue the trapped residents. A 21-year-old man was found on the roof and arrested.
The fire caused significant damage. Two women, aged 37 and 70, are in critical condition. The two children, aged 7 and 10, are stable. Eight police officers were also treated for smoke inhalation but were released later.
Superintendent Peter Stevenson praised the officers for their quick actions. He expressed concern for those still in the hospital. The community is thanked for their support during this traumatic event.
