London: So, Oliver Glasner, the Crystal Palace boss, shared that a “contractual issue” is why Trevoh Chalobah couldn’t play in their FA Cup match against Stockport. It’s a bit of a bummer, right?
Chalobah was actually at Selhurst Park and everyone thought he’d start. Glasner even mentioned it before the game. But then, surprise! He couldn’t play.
There’s been a lot of chatter about Chalobah’s future at Palace lately. Chelsea might want him back because they’ve got some injury woes. It’s all a bit tense.
In the match, Eberechi Eze scored the only goal, and Palace moved on to the next round. Glasner said it was tough to explain why Chalobah didn’t play. He mentioned it was a contractual thing and that it was better for him not to be on the pitch this time.
He found out about this just the night before, which must have been a shock. When asked if Chalobah would still be with Palace after the transfer window, Glasner seemed hopeful. He said both Chalobah and Marc Guehi want to stay, but you never know with 19 days left in the window.
He’s really hoping the squad stays intact. Fingers crossed for Trevoh to be available for the next match against Leicester!
