Reading: ReadiFood helps those struggling by giving out emergency food parcels. They focus on the most vulnerable individuals and families.

Recently, a food collection happened at the busy Co-op on Erleigh Road. It was a great effort by the community.

Matt Rodda, the Labour MP for Reading Central, and councillor Will Cross helped with the collection. Their support made a big difference.

Mr. Rodda expressed gratitude to everyone who donated. He noted how generous people were in wanting to help others.

He also thanked the organizers for their hard work. They coordinated with the Co-op and ReadiFood, handed out leaflets, and packed crates.

The collection took place on Saturday, February 1. It was a successful event for the community.

ReadiFood is run by the Faith Christian Group, which includes volunteers from various churches in town. They work together to support those in need.

Clients receive assistance through referrals, ensuring help goes to those who need it most. More information is available on their website.

ReadiFood is independent but partners with the Independent Food Aid Network and Reading Borough Council. They also collected food for the New Beginnings charity.
