Coventry: A cherished pub in Coventry is getting ready to reopen after shutting down for a while. The Town Wall Tavern, located on Bond Street, is undergoing some renovations.
Ian Brownsword, the licensee, is thrilled about the changes. He promises it will be just like before, but with some fresh updates. The grand reopening is set for Friday, February 28.
Workers have been busy fixing things up and giving the place a fresh coat of paint. Plus, they’ll be serving food, including those tasty Sunday roasts we all love.
And guess what? Kids are welcome too! When it opens, families can enjoy the atmosphere together. They’re even adding an Airbnb option for those who want to stay overnight.
One thing that won’t change is the famous Donkey Box, which will still be part of the pub. Ian shared his excitement about bringing the Town Wall Tavern back to life, especially with the reopening just around the corner.
He mentioned they want to keep the pub’s traditional charm intact. They’re being careful about what to change, ensuring it feels just right.
They’re also taking care of the chimneys and getting the old log fires ready for use. Ian can’t wait to open the doors and meet new faces. He’s really looking forward to it!
He’s also asking the community for support to keep the pub thriving. “We need everyone’s help to keep the Town Wall Tavern alive,” he said, emphasizing the importance of community backing.
In a Facebook post, the Town Wall Tavern announced they’ll be ready to welcome everyone on February 28. They’re excited to show off the renovations and introduce the new team.
