Coventry: The Coventry Citizens Advice is on the lookout for volunteers to step up this New Year. They’re based in Foleshill and need folks who can spare some time to help others in the community. With so many people facing issues like rising bills and job troubles, your help could really make a difference.
The charity promises to provide full training and support, so you won’t be left in the dark. One client shared how the help they received felt like a huge relief. They said, “I just cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us. You can’t imagine the relief.” It’s heartwarming to see how much of an impact this support can have.
Volunteering can be super rewarding too! Denise, one of the volunteers, mentioned how much she loves helping others. She said, “Helping people is my passion. Volunteering at Coventry Citizens Advice is perfect for me.” It’s a great way to learn new skills and meet new people while making a positive impact.
Marian Nelson, the Volunteer and Training Co-ordinator, is eager to hear from anyone who’s interested. She said, “If you are passionate about helping others, we would love to hear from you.” No formal qualifications are needed, just a willingness to help and some time to spare, especially on Fridays.
They ask for a minimum commitment of one day a week, which can be split over two days. Plus, after the initial training at the Foleshill office, you might even have the option to volunteer from home.
If you’re interested, check out the Coventry Citizens Advice website or shoot them an email at volunteering@coventrycab.org.uk. Just a heads up, the application deadline is Monday, February 3 at 9 am, so don’t wait too long!
