Stoke-on-Trent: It’s been a bit of a mess on one of the busiest roads in town. The temporary traffic lights have gone haywire, and drivers are feeling the pinch. The council kicked off work on the City Road and Church Street bridge over the A500 on January 13, and it’s supposed to last until April 14.
But guess what? The traffic lights are already out of action. A spokesperson from the council stepped in to say sorry for the hassle. They mentioned that the lights are down due to some unexpected electrical issues. The team is on it, trying to fix things up quickly to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
They really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while they sort this out. They also reminded folks to drive carefully and follow any alternative signs in the area. The council insists that these roadworks are essential for safety and improving the infrastructure.
They added that most of the work will happen under lane closures, with those pesky temporary lights and some road closures at different stages. So, it’s a bit of a wait, but they’re working hard to get it sorted.
