Brentford Drive is a mess, with debris all over the place. The contractors even sent a street sweeper to clean it up, but that’s not really fixing the problem, is it? Other roads like Prince Charles Avenue and Barnes Green roundabout are also looking rough after the same work was done.

Residents have been reaching out to Derbyshire Live to voice their complaints. Joe Collins, who’s lived on Brentford Drive for about 30 years, is really frustrated. He pointed out that other roads in the area are just fine, so why did they cut corners here? He’s not happy with the quality of work and thinks it’s going to lead to more repairs down the line.

Joe said, “You pay your council tax, and you expect the work to be done right.” He even joked that someone with a blunt screwdriver could do a better job. He wants the council to come out and check the work that’s been done.

In response, Derby City Council sent out letters to residents apologizing for the “failed materials.” They assured everyone that the repairs would be done at no extra cost to the council since it wasn’t their fault. They’ve acknowledged that some areas of the resurfaced road don’t meet the required standards and are working with the contractor to fix it.

A council spokesperson mentioned that they’ve identified the problem areas and will start repairs as soon as the weather allows. They’re committed to making sure the work meets their standards before signing off on it.

Miles Macadam has also commented, saying they didn’t supply the faulty materials but will take responsibility for the mess. They’re planning to start repairs soon, but they didn’t want to disturb residents during the holiday season.

It looks like residents will have to deal with more repairs and temporary traffic lights in the meantime. Gaurav Pandey, the local councillor, is also not happy with how things turned out. He’s raised concerns with both the council and the contractors, calling the situation “absolutely shocking.”

As for when the repairs will actually happen, that’s still up in the air. Miles Macadam is working with the council to figure out the schedule. They know how important this road is for local buses and residents, so they’re promising to sort it out soon.
