Saltash: So, Cornwall Council is shaking things up a bit! They’re kicking off a trial this month to tackle the crazy traffic at a busy junction in town. Ever since that retail spot opened on Gilston Road back in 2019, folks have been grumbling about the traffic jams.

Starting January 28, they’re going to try something new. They’ll stop cars from turning right onto Callington Road at the Gilston Road Junction. Instead, drivers will be sent towards the Pillmere roundabout. Sounds like a plan, right?

They’ll also put up some temporary signs to guide drivers heading to the A38 west to take Burraton Road instead. A council spokesperson mentioned they’re doing this because locals have raised concerns about congestion and safety. It’s all about making things smoother for everyone.

During the six-month trial, they’ll keep an eye on how traffic flows and see if the community supports making these changes permanent. Fingers crossed it works out!
