Cork: So, Storm Éowyn really did a number on us, huh? Tomorrow, we’re bracing for some strong winds again, but thankfully, they won’t be as wild as the 183 km/h gusts we saw on Friday.

The cleanup is still in full swing, and it’s tough for the ESB crews and other workers out there. Right now, about 780,000 homes and businesses are without power. Most folks should get their electricity back in the next couple of days, but some remote areas might be waiting a bit longer.

The National Emergency Coordination Group is meeting today to figure out how to tackle the aftermath of this storm. It’s going to be chilly too, with temperatures dropping to freezing tonight. We might even see some sleet or snow in parts of Munster.

On the bright side, once we get through the high winds tomorrow and Monday, we can expect a nice stretch of cold, clear weather with plenty of sunshine later in the week.

Looking at today’s forecast for Munster, it’s cold but mostly dry this morning. There might be a few wintry showers, and some frost is likely. We’ll see some sunshine early on, but a band of rain will roll in from the west later.

Tonight should be mostly dry, with some clear spells at first, but clouds will move in, bringing rain by morning. Temperatures will drop to between -2 and +1 degrees.

Tomorrow morning, expect wet and windy conditions with strong southeasterly winds. Rain will be heavy in places, and we could see some local flooding. But don’t worry, it should clear up in the afternoon with some sunny spells and scattered showers.

As for the rest of the week, it looks like we’ll have a mix of rain and showers, but things should improve by Thursday. So hang in there, everyone!
