London: Fans of BBC’s reality show The Traitors often wonder how the whole murder thing works behind the scenes. It’s a real head-scratcher, especially when players get “murdered.”
In the game, the Traitors can choose to eliminate someone by committing murder. They gather in a turret, wearing their black cloaks, and decide who’s leaving. Then, viewers see the poor soul walking into a room to get a letter about their fate.
There’s also the Round Table banishment, where players vote for who they think is a Traitor. The one with the most votes leaves after revealing their role, which can lead to cheers or tears, depending on the season.
Right now, Minah and Linda are the last two Traitors in the game. It’s getting intense!
With all the secrecy around the murders, fans have tons of questions. Luckily, a former winner has shared the “confusing” process that happens off-camera.
Meryl Williams, who won the first UK series, explained how the murders go down. She said, “When the Traitors decide to kill someone, they go to the turret. I never saw it since I wasn’t a Traitor, but from what Wilfred and Alyssa told me, we all go home while they stay back.”
She added, “The cars come to pick us up one by one to avoid any mix-ups. The Traitors’ cars leave but then do a U-turn back to the castle to decide who’s getting murdered.”
Before breakfast, everyone has a one-on-one interview on camera, kind of like the Big Brother diary room. That’s when the “murdered” player gets their letter. Meryl mentioned she got pulled into the room a few times and thought she was the one being murdered. It’s all pretty confusing!
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, so don’t miss it!
