Glasgow: So, there’s this ongoing investigation into a funeral director in Glasgow that’s been going on for over eight months now. It all kicked off when the police raided the place back in May 2024.

A. Milne Independent Funeral Directors, located on Balornock Road in Springburn, was under the spotlight after reports surfaced about missing ashes and dodgy dealings with pre-paid funeral plans. During the police sweep, they found 19 urns, and eight more were handed over to Argyll and Bute Council.

They called the whole thing Operation Koine, and it led to three arrests, though those folks were released while the investigation continued. The police mentioned that the search was about handling cremated remains and some financial misconduct allegations.

Since then, the funeral home has shut down and got kicked out of the National Association of Funeral Directors. In July, the police said this was a really complex case that had affected a lot of families.

Two people, a 56-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, were arrested in July, and then a 37-year-old woman was taken in August. All of them are still waiting for the investigation to wrap up.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said they’re still looking into everything. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
