Aktau: So, there was this awful plane crash on Christmas Day. A commercial flight with nearly 70 people on board went down in flames. It was operated by Azerbaijan Airlines and happened early this morning.

The plane was flying from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, but had to change course because of foggy weather. Thankfully, the fires are out now, but the cause of the crash is still a mystery.

Reports say the Embraer E190AR aircraft sent out a distress signal after hitting a bird. It looks like around 25 people managed to survive, and there were over 50 emergency responders on the scene to help.

We’ve reached out to Azerbaijan Airlines and Kazakhstan’s Ministry for Emergency Situations for more details. It’s a tough situation, and everyone is hoping for the best for those affected.
