Denver: So, you know how sometimes trick plays can totally backfire? Well, that’s exactly what happened to the Colts in a nail-biter against the Broncos.
Late in the game, with the Colts down by four, they decided to pull out a trick play. Quarterback Anthony Richardson took the snap and tossed it to Adonai Mitchell. But then things went south.
Instead of connecting back with Richardson, Mitchell’s pass went straight to Broncos linebacker Nik Bonitto. He grabbed the ball and ran it back for a touchdown, making it 24-13. Ouch!
This wasn’t the Colts’ only blunder, either. Earlier, Jonathan Taylor dropped a pass that could have been a touchdown. Instead of scoring, the Broncos took over, and the Colts’ chances slipped away.
With that defensive touchdown and a total of 17 unanswered points, the Broncos flipped the game on its head. It was a tough loss for the Colts, especially with playoff hopes on the line.
