Yamanto: A shocking incident unfolded when a 63-year-old Coles worker was allegedly stabbed. It happened in Queensland’s southeast, and it’s left everyone rattled.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Yamanto Central around 5:25 PM on Monday. They received reports of a woman with stab wounds, and when they arrived, they found the worker seriously injured.

She was quickly taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy was arrested nearby shortly after the incident.

A spokesperson for Coles expressed gratitude to the emergency services and mentioned that they are cooperating with the police investigation. They also shared their concern for the injured worker and her family.

“We’re here to support our team member and their family during this tough time,” the spokesperson said. They emphasized that the safety of customers and staff is their top priority.

A witness described the scene, saying they saw the boy being chased through the shopping center. “It was wild! There were like 15 people after him, and he looked so small,” they told 9 NEWS.

Authorities are asking anyone who saw what happened or has video footage to come forward. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change in a community.
