Volusia: This weekend is shaping up to be a cozy one. If you’re in the mood for some holiday vibes, it’s time to grab those scarves.
A cold front is moving through Volusia-Flagler from Friday night into Saturday, dropping the temps for a bit. But don’t get too comfy; the chill won’t last long.
In Flagler County, expect Saturday morning lows in the 40s, according to Ben Nelson from the National Weather Service in Jacksonville. Highs will be in the upper 50s to around 60 for the weekend.
Nelson mentioned, “We’re getting another cold front tonight, so it’ll feel like Christmas this weekend. But it won’t stick around for long.”
People are already checking out the Christmas lights at the Twi-Light II Motel, even with the rain on Monday night.
By Christmas Day, Flagler’s temps are expected to hit the 70s. It might not be beach weather, but it’s definitely not scarf weather either.
Volusia County is in for a similar forecast, says Brendan Schaper from the National Weather Service in Melbourne. Residents will wake up to chilly temps on Saturday, with lows in the 40s and highs likely in the 50s or around 60.
If you’re traveling for Christmas, keep in mind the best and worst times to hit the road.
Schaper added, “We’ll start warming up a bit on Sunday with partly cloudy skies and temps in the 60s.”
On Christmas, Volusia County can expect highs in the mid-70s and lows in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.
