Culcheth: So, there’s this old Chinese restaurant called Attic No.8 that shut down last year. It was struggling with money, like many places did. Now, there’s a plan to turn it into two flats.

The spot is at 8b Church Lane, right above some shops. It’s a two-story building, and the idea is to make two cozy two-bedroom apartments there.

Even though Church Lane has some parking rules, there are two parking spaces set aside for the new flats, which is pretty handy. They’re right next to the building, so that’s a plus.

They’ll keep a small office and a restroom for the owner and nearby properties, which is nice. Most of the changes will be inside, with just a few tweaks on the outside.

They plan to swap out the old wooden windows for some new grey UPVC ones. Each flat will have its own entrance, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, and a kitchen. Plus, there’s a shared back exit.

The council sent out letters to neighbors and put up a notice, but no one seemed to have any objections. They think the new flats fit well with the area and won’t cause any issues for the neighbors or traffic.
