Los Angeles: The Clippers are having a solid season, sitting at 18-13 and fifth in the Western Conference. Their defense is top-notch, and players like James Harden and Norman Powell are stepping up on offense.

Good news is, Kawhi Leonard might be back soon! He’s been practicing since December 18, and if all goes well, he could return on January 4. He’s missed the whole season so far due to knee issues, which means he’ll have sat out 34 games by then.

Coach Tyronn Lue mentioned that Leonard needs to get more 5-on-5 practice in before the medical team clears him. With a busy schedule ahead, he won’t travel with the team but will practice with the G League squad to get those reps in.

Leonard isn’t a fan of practicing 5-on-5 outside of games, but it’s crucial for his recovery. The team wants to ensure he’s ready to go without any setbacks. So far, things are looking good.

The Clippers have a tough road trip coming up, with back-to-back games against New Orleans and San Antonio, followed by a matchup with Oklahoma City.

If Leonard returns to his previous form, the Clippers will be a much tougher team. Last season, he was a Second Team All-NBA player, averaging nearly 24 points, over 6 rebounds, and playing stellar defense. Pairing him with Harden could really elevate their offense.
