On Tuesday, the skies are expected to be clear, with temperatures ranging from a brisk 14 degrees in the morning to a warmer 31 degrees later in the day. Humidity is sitting at 82 percent, so it might feel a bit sticky. The sun came up at 7:14 AM and will set around 6:16 PM.
The Colaba observatory also reported a maximum of 28 degrees and a minimum of 18.6 degrees. The IMD is predicting clear skies for the next 24 hours, which is nice to hear.
Now, about the air quality—it’s in the ‘moderate’ range. The Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app showed an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 127 at 9:05 AM. Areas like Bandra Kurla Complex had an AQI of 158, while places like Colaba and Ghatkopar were around 117 and 105, respectively.
Interestingly, Borivali had ‘good’ air quality with an AQI of 90, but Shivaji Nagar was on the poorer side with an AQI of 249. Navi Mumbai also fell into the ‘moderate’ category with an AQI of 110, while Thane was doing better at 98.
The air quality index ranges from 0 to 100 for ‘good’, 100 to 200 for ‘moderate’, and so on. With pollution levels rising, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is stepping up. They’re revising guidelines for construction sites and planning to set up monitoring systems to keep pollution in check. Sounds like they’re taking it seriously!
