Cinemas in Glasgow offering free tickets to kids film

Glasgow: Escapes is offering a sneak preview of the animation, The Sloth Lane. The showing will be at Omniplex, Grosvenor Picture Theatre, and Cumbernauld Theatre Trust. It’s happening on February 9, just before the official release on February 14.

Tickets for the screenings are available for sign-up now on the Escapes website. This initiative is supported by BFI and National Lottery funding. It promises another year of free cinema, featuring cult classics, new previews, and award-winning films.

A spokesperson for Escapes said they want families to enjoy a free and exciting Sunday at the cinema this February. They’re screening The Sloth Lane, a funny and heartfelt animation, ahead of its official release.

Backed by BFI and National Lottery funding, Escapes will bring fresh films to audiences every month in 2025. This gives families a great chance to enjoy a cinematic adventure together at no cost.

Last year, the scheme welcomed over 65,000 people to discover a range of independent films. On Instagram, they said, “A family that cooks together, stays together.” They invited families to grab free tickets for up to two adults and three kids for a fun-filled movie experience.

The Sloth Lane follows the story of a fast-paced sloth named Laura. For the first time, Escapes allows bookings of up to two adults and three children per order, making it easier for families to enjoy this experience together.

Every screening of The Sloth Lane will feature descriptive subtitles to ensure accessibility for a wider audience. The initiative will announce a new film every month for the rest of the year, continuing to provide free cinema experiences for families.
