Cincinnati: A 41-year-old man is in some serious trouble. Auqeith Byner has been charged in connection with the death of his sister-in-law, Sherry Geis. She tragically passed away from a drug overdose back in March.

According to court records, Byner is facing some hefty charges, including involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs. It’s a big deal, especially since these records were sealed for a while.

Sherry, who was just 36, was found unresponsive in her bed by family members. Paramedics arrived but sadly, she was already gone. The police say she died from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and cocaine.

The investigation led the Fairfield Twp. Police to discover that Byner allegedly sold drugs to Sherry right near her home. They tracked it back to a UDF store on Tylersville Road.

Byner is currently sitting in the Kenton County Detention Center after being arrested in September. He’s got a few other drug charges hanging over him too, including trafficking cocaine and fentanyl.

On top of that, there’s a fugitive warrant out for him from another state, but details on that are still unclear. He’s got a $100,000 cash bond for the fugitive warrant and another $50,000 for the charges in Kentucky.

He’s set to appear in court for a couple of hearings soon, and once he’s extradited back to Ohio, he’ll have to deal with those felony charges in Butler County.
