SACRAMENTO: The Kings finally snagged their first win with Doug Christie as interim coach. It wasn’t the prettiest game, but hey, a win is a win, right?

They still had some of the same issues, like struggling to defend the 3-point line and being a bit careless with the ball. But somehow, they managed to pull off a 110-100 victory against the Mavericks, who were playing with a lot of backup players.

Domantas Sabonis, the Kings’ center, was pretty pumped about his double-double, saying, “It was ugly, but we got the win.” And honestly, that’s the vibe around the Golden 1 Center. Sure, the game wasn’t a masterpiece, but it ended with a W, and that’s what counts.

The Kings had been losing a lot, which is why they decided to let go of Mike Brown, even after he was named Coach of the Year not too long ago. The team looked the same, but this time they held on to their lead instead of letting it slip away in the fourth quarter.

Christie expressed his pride in the team, saying they didn’t start strong but made some defensive improvements. He emphasized that winning is what matters most.

In sports, it’s all about the scoreboard. Fans and owners care about wins and losses, not how pretty the game looks.

Christie’s future as the full-time coach is still up in the air, but he’s focused on bringing back the fun to the arena. He wants the players to enjoy the game while also being serious about winning.

To build team spirit, he made some small changes, like having the players lock arms during timeouts. After overcoming an 18-point deficit, he was pleased with their response.

The players felt a sense of relief too. After a rough start to the season and a coaching change, they needed this win. Keon Ellis mentioned that they didn’t know how much the coaching change affected them, but it felt good to get back on track.

Here’s hoping they can keep this momentum going into the next games!
