Ilkeston: A woman had a terrifying experience when a stalker followed her to work. This creep, David Brudenell, used a fake Facebook profile to harass her and six other women.

He sent her explicit messages and even took photos of her without her knowing. It’s just so unsettling, right? The police got involved after she reported him last July.

They found footage of him trailing her as she walked through town. When they arrested him, they discovered more disturbing messages on his phone, including threats to other women.

Brudenell, 40, was sentenced to over four years in prison. The court also issued restraining orders to keep him away from his victims. It’s a relief to see justice served.

Detective Sergeant Jack Gibbs from Derbyshire Police spoke about how serious this case was. He emphasized the importance of reporting such behavior, whether it’s online or in person.

Stalking can really mess with someone’s head, and it’s crucial for victims to know they’re not alone. The community played a big role in bringing Brudenell to justice, which is heartening.

Detective Staff Investigator Emilia Sterland also praised the victims for their courage. She reminded everyone that stalking is a serious crime and won’t be tolerated.
