Westminster: Ofsted has given a big thumbs up to the children’s services in Westminster. They’ve been rated outstanding for the third time in a row, which is pretty impressive!
This latest inspection looked at how well the council supports kids and young people. They checked out everything from help and protection to the care provided by the staff.
What’s cool is that both Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea are the first councils to get this top rating three times in a row over ten years. That’s no small feat!
The inspectors were really impressed with how dedicated the social workers are. They make sure to listen to what the kids want and need, and they act quickly when there’s a risk.
They also highlighted how well the council supports families dealing with tough situations, like domestic abuse. It’s great to see that kind of care in action.
Another positive note was the support for disabled children. The council is doing a fantastic job with timely assessments and tailored support packages.
Cllr Aicha Less, the deputy leader, expressed her pride in the staff’s hard work. She mentioned how important it is to work together with schools and community services to make a real difference.
Getting an outstanding rating for three years straight is a huge achievement, and it shows just how committed everyone is to helping the kids in Westminster.
