Albuquerque: It’s a tough time for everyone who knew Cherry Lee Swartz (Beddo). She passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2025, at 85. Just a few days later, her husband Bill also left us on January 13, 2025. They’ll be honored together at a memorial service on January 24, 2025, at FRENCH-Lomas.
Cherry was born on February 20, 1939, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. In 1969, she moved to Albuquerque and met Bill, the love of her life. They tied the knot on June 6, 1969, and built a beautiful life together filled with love and adventure.
She was such a vibrant person, known for her warmth and charm. Cherry was a fantastic hostess and loved playing bridge. Her career as a real estate agent was impressive, and she truly cared about helping people find their dream homes.
Cherry also had a knack for design, making their home in Rio Rancho a cozy and inviting space. She and Bill shared their home with many dogs in need, giving them the love and care they deserved.
After retiring, they traveled the world and even bought a cabin in Jemez, New Mexico, where Cherry found peace in nature. She was also active in the Sanado Women’s Club, connecting with others and supporting great causes.
Cherry leaves behind her sister Patricia, brother Homer, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her spirit and kindness touched so many lives, and she will be missed dearly. The memorial service will be a chance for everyone to celebrate her life and the love she shared.
