Los Angeles: So, Charles Barkley was on “Inside the NBA” and he really went after JJ Redick. It all started when Redick criticized the media for being too harsh, saying it might be hurting NBA ratings.

Barkley didn’t hold back. He said, “JJ, you come for the king, you better not miss.” He was clearly fired up about Redick’s comments. While they were showing highlights from a Celtics game, Barkley took a shot at Redick, saying the media isn’t the reason for the Lakers’ struggles.

He pointed out that the Lakers have had two coaches fired recently, Frank Vogel and Darvin Ham, who both did decent jobs. Barkley said Redick is just a “dead man walking” in this situation. He joked about how Redick thought he could fix things with the same old problems.

Barkley kept going, saying the Lakers are a mess and that it’s not the media’s fault if ratings are down. He made it clear that if he and Shaq were playing, the ratings would still drop because the team isn’t performing well.

He wrapped it up by saying the Lakers need to face the facts. The league has seen a dip in viewership, and Barkley thinks it’s not just about the media. Redick, who used to work for ESPN, had his own thoughts on the ratings drop, saying the storytelling around the game needs to improve.

Despite the challenges, the NBA has seen some positive ratings lately, especially during Christmas games. But with “Inside the NBA” moving to ESPN next season, it’ll be interesting to see how things unfold.
