Ellie accused local businessman Mohammed Ramzan of grooming her since she was a child, claiming he took her to Amsterdam and forced her into a brothel. But it was later revealed she was actually in Amsterdam with her sister at the time.
She also falsely accused other men, leading to severe consequences for their lives. The fallout from her lies caused public outrage, protests, and even death threats against the accused.
In court, it was revealed that some of the men she accused had attempted suicide due to the stress and shame her allegations caused. The impact of her lies was devastating, ruining lives and tearing families apart.
In January 2023, after a lengthy trial, Ellie was found guilty of multiple counts of perverting justice. At just 22 years old, she was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison. She thanked the judge as she was led away.
