Joe Mazzulla, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, NBA, Technical Foul

Boston: So, Joe Mazzulla, the Celtics coach, just got hit with a $35,000 fine from the NBA. This happened after the Celtics lost to the Bulls, 117-108. Ouch!

The league said he was fined for “aggressively pursuing and directing inappropriate language” at a referee. Not a good look, right?

During the game, Mazzulla left the coach’s box and walked onto the court, which earned him a technical foul. His star players, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, also got techs that night.

After the game, Mazzulla went after referee Justin Van Duyne to chat about the calls. When asked what he said, he joked about wishing the refs a merry Christmas. Classic Mazzulla!

That little quip might have saved him from a bigger fine, unlike Rockets coach Ime Udoka, who got fined for similar behavior earlier this month.

After the game, the crew chief mentioned that Brown got a tech for questioning a ref’s integrity, while Tatum’s was for an “overt action” towards an official. Sounds like a heated night!

Brown felt he was unfairly penalized, saying he was just speaking up for his team. He even got fined $25,000 recently for a throat-slash gesture. Yikes!

Next up, the Celtics will face the Bulls again in Chicago. Let’s see if Mazzulla keeps it cool this time!
