CCTV Captures Shocking Moment Machete Aimed at Men in Wigan Altercation
CCTV footage shows a terrifying encounter in Wigan as a machete is brandished during a street altercation

Wigan: So, there was this crazy incident caught on CCTV where a guy was waving a huge machete at two men. It all went down on Darlington Street on January 10.
The footage, which made its way to social media, shows one guy sprinting down the street while another, dressed in black and holding the machete, chases after him.
This all happened around 9:51 PM last Friday. You can see a man in a lighter top running for his life, and then he trips and falls into the road, raising his arms to protect himself.
It looks pretty intense, and at one point, another guy in dark clothes jumps in too. The guy with the machete actually strikes the first victim before turning the blade toward the second guy, who steps back in shock.
After that, the first guy manages to escape out of the frame, but the machete is still aimed at the second man. The police were called right after the altercation, but thankfully, no one got hurt.
Maureen O’Bern, an independent councillor, said she reached out to the police about this serious situation. She’s really worried about these machete incidents happening on Darlington Street.
She even wrote a letter expressing her concerns, saying it’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt or worse.
According to Greater Manchester Police, they got reports of the altercation shortly after 9:50 PM and sent officers to check it out. Luckily, there were no injuries, but they’re still looking into what happened.
