Carlisle: Exciting news for boxing fans! Danny Christie, the bare-knuckle champ from Carlisle, is stepping back into the ring. He’s got a big fight lined up for April.
He’ll be going head-to-head with Brett May in Barnsley. This match is part of the Bad To The Bone BKB show happening at the Metrodome on April 19.
Christie recently announced his retirement from the major BKFC promotion, where he held the British light-heavyweight title. Now, he’s ready to take on heavyweight May in a three-round showdown.
Organiser Stefan Albert Hanks mentioned that there’s a nice purse on the line. The winner will snag 60% of it, while the loser gets 40%. Sounds like a real shootout!
Hanks also shared that the fight will be on catchweight terms, meaning Christie will fight at cruiserweight, and May will need to drop some pounds.
There’s even a BMF title up for grabs! The promotion teased fans with a message: “No more talking – it’s time for action.”
Christie made quite a name for himself in the BKFC from 2022 to 2024. At 40 years old, he racked up five wins and two losses, even claiming the UK light-heavyweight title along the way.
He later moved up to middleweight and had a shot at the world title, but he faced a tough loss against the American champ, David Mundell.
