Newton: Newton House Care Home has launched a Winter Warmer Café. It’s open every Wednesday at their North Greenlaw Way location.

This initiative started in January. It aims to help people feel less isolated during the cold months.

Lara Masucci, the home manager, shared their commitment to the community. She noted that winter can be tough, with many staying indoors to keep warm.

The café invites everyone to join. Visitors can enjoy hot drinks, soup, bread, and baked goods made fresh from the kitchen.

Local resident Helen Weswater is excited about the café. She finds it warm and welcoming, with friendly people and delicious soup.

Having lived in East Renfrewshire her whole life, Helen values the friendships she’s made at Newton House. She spreads the word about the café’s benefits.

Kerry-Anne McDade, the wellbeing coach, is thrilled with the café’s success. She hopes more people will come for a chat and enjoy the tasty refreshments.

The café operates every Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Everyone is welcome to stop by!
