Crewkerne: Early this morning, a caravan went up in flames, and it was quite a sight. The fire started on a driveway and quickly spread to three vehicles, a garage, and even a bungalow.

Fire crews rushed to the scene just after 1:30 AM. When they arrived, the caravan was already ablaze. The flames didn’t waste any time, reaching the garage and the roof of the nearby bungalow.

Firefighters got to work using breathing gear and various hoses to tackle the fire. Unfortunately, two people had to be treated for smoke inhalation, but thankfully, they were attended to by paramedics right away.

By around 10:20 AM, the fire was finally under control. The fire service is still looking into what caused the blaze, so we’ll have to wait for more details on that.

According to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, they received multiple emergency calls about the caravan fire. Initially, two fire engines were sent, but as the situation escalated, they called in more help.

When the crews got there, they confirmed the caravan was fully engulfed, and the fire had spread to the garage and the bungalow’s roof. They ended up sending two more fire engines to help out.

Sadly, the caravan was completely destroyed, along with three vehicles and the garage. The two individuals who suffered from smoke inhalation were treated on the scene. The investigation into the fire’s cause is still ongoing.
