Stoke-on-Trent: An elderly man had quite the scare when his car smashed into a house. It all went down on Harpfield Road in Trent Vale. The black Mitsubishi L200 didn’t just bump into the property; it really ploughed into it.
Emergency services jumped into action. Firefighters had to cut the driver free, who’s in his 70s, before paramedics whisked him off to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. This happened around 9:30 am on a Sunday morning.
After the crash, they had to shut off the gas supply to the house while they figured things out. A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police said they got the call about the collision and found the car wedged into the house.
Luckily, the driver was helped out by the firefighters and checked by paramedics right there. No one inside the house was hurt, which is a relief. The local authorities were notified, and a structural engineer came to take a look.
According to a spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service, they were alerted by the fire service about the crash. An ambulance and a paramedic officer were dispatched, and the driver received treatment for minor injuries before heading to the hospital for a bit more care.
