Grantham: Starting next week, car park charges are changing. The new prices will affect both short and long stay options.
But here’s the good news: you can park for an hour free at all South Kesteven District Council car parks in Grantham, except for the Wharf Road multi-storey, which offers two hours free. This move aims to attract more shoppers to Grantham and help the local economy.
In Stamford, the new rates kick in on Monday, January 20. For short stay parking, the first hour will go from £1.30 to £1.50, and the price for two hours will rise from £2 to £2.50. If you stay over four hours, it’ll jump from £5.40 to £8.
For long stay parking in Stamford, the first two hours will increase from £2.60 to £3, and if you stay over four hours, it’ll go from £4.20 to £5.
In Grantham, short stay parking will see some decreases, like the first hour dropping from £1.20 to free. However, if you stay over four hours, it’ll increase from £5.30 to £7.
Season tickets are also getting a price update. In Stamford, a four-month ticket will cost £140, while in Grantham, it’ll be £135. There’s also some good news for Stamford with 146 new parking spaces at the Cattlemarket Car Park, including spots for electric vehicles.
These price changes were decided by the council back in September and are the first increases in three years. They plan to review the impact in six months.
