Canadian Man, 38, Dies in Avalanche While Snowboarding in Utah
A tragic avalanche in Utah has claimed the life of a 38-year-old Canadian man, David Éthier, while he was snowboarding.

Salt Lake City: It’s such a sad story. A Canadian guy, David Éthier, just 38 years old, lost his life in an avalanche while snowboarding in Utah. He was out in the Millcreek Canyon area when the snow came crashing down.
Authorities found his body on Tuesday after a rescue operation kicked off. It all started when his family got worried after he didn’t return. They found his dog and his car at the trailhead, which led them to alert the sheriff’s office.
Deputy Arlan Bennett mentioned that David had been splitboarding, which is like snowboarding but with a bit of hiking involved. Unfortunately, he got caught in the avalanche on Saturday and didn’t make it.
Rescue efforts were tough because of heavy snowfall. They had to wait for a break in the weather to send in a helicopter. Sheriff Rosie Rivera called it a heartbreaking tragedy, and you can really feel for his family back in Quebec.
