Canada Post Strike: Four Weeks In and No End in Sight for Postal Workers
The Canada Post strike continues with no resolution in sight, as proposals from the union fail to bridge the gap with management amid ongoing delivery disruptions.

Ottawa: So, the Canada Post strike has been dragging on for almost four weeks now, and it looks like there’s no end in sight. The postal service just announced that they don’t see a resolution coming anytime soon.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers sent over their latest proposals, which include things like wage increases and job protections. But Canada Post said these proposals aren’t really getting them any closer to an agreement. It’s a real mess, and millions of deliveries are stuck in limbo.
Even with people calling for the government to step in, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau mentioned that they’re just trying to push both sides to work it out. One big sticking point is whether to expand deliveries to the weekend, and they can’t seem to agree on how to staff that.
The strike kicked off on November 14, and although a federal mediator was brought in, that effort was paused almost two weeks ago because the two sides are just too far apart.
