Caithness: There’s a big call for folks in Caithness to join a litter-picking event aimed at making 2025 the best Spring Clean ever.

Keep Scotland Beautiful is hoping to surpass last year’s 45,000 participants and get over 50,000 people to help tackle litter across the country.

The Spring Clean runs from March 21 to April 21, and everyone in Scotland is invited to pitch in, connect with their communities, and make a difference in local parks, streets, rivers, and beaches.

According to KSB’s recent report, a whopping 72% of surveyed sites were found littered. Plus, 87% of people think litter is a real issue in Scotland.

Barry Fisher, the chief executive of KSB, pointed out that while the litter problem is serious, there’s a strong desire for action. Over 80% of folks want to see more efforts to clean up their neighborhoods.

Last year’s Spring Clean was a hit, with over 45,000 people participating across all local areas.

With this year marking KSB’s 25th anniversary, they’re aiming high and encouraging everyone to join in for the biggest and most impactful Spring Clean yet.

For the younger crowd, the Litter League is back, starting March 17 and running until April 21. Schools and youth groups are encouraged to join in and compete for some fun prizes.

Businesses, both big and small, are also being asked to get involved again this year by organizing litter picks and supporting their communities.
